My Mother-In-Law is dying....

..............she's 78 years old and she might not see this Easter.

Cancer.

Almost fifty years ago she became a widow. Her husband....a part-time musician in the Austin Texas area (same time about....same place as Willie Nelson)....died unexpectantly. She was left with three children to raise. Two girls and a boy...all young...very young.

She didn't quit....she didn't give up.

She made do. She did what she had to do to raise the kids.....and she did a good job. They all (especially one) turned out to be good people.

Then thirty or so years ago she got colon cancer.

She didn't quit...she didn't give up.

She had surgery...they removed "parts" .....there was months of chemotheraphy...she went on.

Several years later she got breast cancer.

She didn't quit...she didn't give up.

She had surgery...they removed "parts"...she had chemotheaphy AND radiation treatments.
Her hair fell out and she wore a wig for a while....and she went on.

She didn't quit...she didn't give up.

A year ago at age 77+ she was still working full time. Eight hour days.

The cancer returned......again.

One arm become paralyzed...she lost weight.

She didn't quit.
She won't quit...
She is constitutionally incapable of quitting.

Right now she might...MIGHT weigh 80 lbs. She can barely move...barely speak... she's so weak...she's been in and out of the hospital maybe five times in the last week.

It's obvious....it's only a matter of time....the kidney's are shutting down...vision...hearing....going.

Can't sleep...halucinations...

She isn't quitting.

Winston Churchill said "never ever.... never, never quit"....

She won't...she can't....it's not in her to quit.
.......she'll fight up until the very last micro-second.

A will of BattleSteel....a fighter till the end.

Harriet Dell Sites....my wife's mom.
